London gal- born n bred in SW London. My parents originally come from another little island- the lovely paradise island of Mauritius. I used to go back there almost every year, so I’ve grown up speaking French and Creole and have a love of sunshine and bright colours.
I did start this blog as a fashion blog only but I’m too lazy to set up other different blogs for things other than fashion that interest me, so I’m just going to blog about anything and everything that I’m interested in.
My fashion sense has been greatly influenced by my mum who was always chic and put together outfits really well. Although there are some things I disagree with her about like shopping for vintage- she always used to say that ‘someone could have died in those old clothes; you shouldn’t buy them because its bad luck’ but I think it’s because of her Chinese upbringing and superstition!
People have called my outfits ‘eclectic’, ‘funky’ and sometimes ‘weird’ but I’ve not let that bother me, each to his own I say! If someone else has a problem with it, it’s their problem, not mine!
I’ve not really been into interiors as my folks weren’t and home was filled with Chinese trinkets and pictures, Buddha’s and things picked up on their travels. So I’ve been perusing many blogs and sites to determine my own style, hopefully that will come through when I decorate my first home…
I love cooking- baking, sautéing, frying, boiling…. Etc. And I have a library of cookbooks in my arsenal but I prefer just getting a few ingredients together and coming up with different recipes and dishes. Apart from baking cakes- that has to be quite precise otherwise things just don’t work how you expect them to (cue my disastrous idea to throw in some banana’s into a chocolate muffin mix, making the cupcakes sink in the middle!)
